Fan of the Month Archive
We've met a lot of terrific people along the way, and our Mega Fan of the Month feature lets us spotlight people that are beyond the occasional listener. Our updates to this feature are sometimes overdue, but nevertheless, without our outstanding repeat customers, we'd be, well, out of work.
Brenda & TerryWell, this one's long overdue, but worth a post nonetheless. These two have the latest record for most consecutive shows. And don't be alarmed when you hear Terry shout, "Bone me like you own me!" He's just requesting a song.
Jennifer & DaveThey say they're not party animals, but we must bring it out in them. They've supported us and spread the word each time we roll through their town (and once when a club had actually pushed us back a week--whoops!). Anywho, we always look forward to their good company and trucking anecdotes. Mega fans? I'll say!
Albert LeaIt's been a while since we've had a nice couple as our Mega Fans of the Month. Kathy and her husband biked 75 miles to spend her Birthday with us. We perhaps don't have as many nice, sincere conversations as we should in between sets, so their company and stories were a treat. Now, who wants to get drunk?!
Red CoolerThey played the pool cues, they played the chairs, they air-drummed and strutted along, and they didn't care. It was enough to exhaust you just by watching. This half of the band Red Cooler showed some major love--the kind of love that bands dream of. Thanks for keeping us entertained (and toasty)!
OmarDuring a two-night stand in Rochester, Omar closed BOTH nights with us, bought us drinks and boutht our CD twice...once each night. Lets just say Omar knows a good time when he sees one, and isn't afraid to approach everyone in the bar telling them so. A great guy to have on our side and a well-deserved entry.
Mr. Jimmy"I thought only black guys could play the blues!" Yeah, we know we may not look the part. And we know where this music came from. But we're not above a nice compliment now and again. Coming from Mr. Jimmy (born and raised in Rosedale, MS) it's extra special. Thanks to him and his pals for all the brotherly love!
Jes & JeffyJes & Jeffy have been there since the beginning for us. Jes was the first to bang the tambourine with us on stage, and Jeffy once wrote our name on his arm with a ballpoint pen. That's dedication. You may even find them cleaning house or changing oil in a vintage NiteRail tee-shirt. The love never stops. Thanks guys!
Mega MikeThis Month belongs to Mega Mike. His keen taste for a good, solid bottom end kept him locked into Konr's "toy bass" guitar stylings all night. During a night of ten thousands notes, Mike called out "only one wrong note." We're never above humoring an audience to see if they're still paying attention, you know. Well that night they were. Thanks again Mega Mike!
Dr. Apollo HarbitiusAfter the Emperor chose him as heir over his own son, a power struggle left him and his family condemned to death. However, after the loss of his family, he overcame a gladiator competition and finally gained control over the empire. On the side, he runs a chiropractic office and listens to NiteRail.
Captain AwesomeAttending the LONGEST streak of consecutive shows outside band members, this Captain has earned his name. Wow. On top of that, he made our guestbook and filmed the rare video footage of our debut in 2005! We couldn't think of a more worthy candidate for our first monthly Mega Fan. Thanks Cap'n!
